I have over 25 years of experience in numerous aspects of the Film and Television industry - in leadership and in directorial roles. I am always ready to take on new challenging roles - as an Actress and/or Director, in a world that now craves strong, experienced females who have valuable voices that are worth being heard - to contribute to the betterment of this industry and the world as a whole.

With so much human drama unfolding in regional conflicts all over the world, I believe that as an actress and/or director I can be relevant. By drawing upon my ethnicity, appearance and personal history with Revolution, War, Immigration and Political upheaval, I can offer complex representations of women from the East.

After months of casting for the Australian feature Journey, I was selected to perform the female-lead 'Sara'. Since its release, the film has been viewed by more than 20 million people and has an online following with over 570,000 Facebook ‘Likes’. A year earlier, I co-wrote, directed and acted in the award-winning indie thriller Luciferous. My most recent roles were in the Canadian films Tehranto and House Arrest.

My husband is Jewish-Canadian animation director Alexander Gorelick. We have a daughter, Mina. My extended family, with whom I often collaborate professionally includes directors, animators, editors, actors and art-directors. I have travelled extensively, currently live in Toronto and seek acting opportunities wherever they arise.

My parents are animation filmmakers Mahvash Tehrani (Iran’s first female cinematographer) and Hosseinali Ghorbankarimi. They introduced me to film production in their studio, and sparked my obsession for the work of Kurosawa, Coppola, Hitchcock, Peckinpah and Kiarostami.

As a young woman I took every opportunity to explore dramatic theatre. After placing third in Iran's nation-wide University Entrance Examination in the Visual & Performing Arts category, I received a full scholarship to Tehran University where I earned my degree. I immigrated to Canada, continued my education at Sheridan College and since then have had a successful career in the Film, Animation and VFX industry.
